Waiting...

from Synchronicity by ThinkingMetal

about

Waiting... was composed specifically for an Awakenings concert, almost certainly the 2011 outing although, strangely, there's no mention of it in any of my notebooks dating from around that time.

Waiting... proved very popular with the audience and instantly became an encore piece. As with Juno Reactor and Blues for a Red Planet, it was composed quickly, inside twenty minutes if memory serves. The PPG-style metal chimes and EX5 solo were improvised on the spot and are presented here free of any quantisation or corrections. You can tell.
