about

The Fabulous Neutrinos was the follow up to the enormously successful "The Infection of Time" and quickly pushed T-Bass UK to the forefront of the emerging UK Electronic Music scene. Now expanded to a trio, the band set out to develop the themes and ideas which first appeared in their debut release but with release there's something akin to a quantum leap in terms of production quality and depth, which made this one of the stand-out releases of 2001.

Drawing on influences as diverse as Tangerine Dream, Ultravox, punk rock, prog rock and ambient noise collages, the album is simply brimming with ideas and colours.

This is easily one of the most muscular and dynamic albums ever with bombastic drums, huge synth pads and screaming synth solos aplenty.

Andy Gee, lead reviewer with CDS, was so taken with "The Fabulous Neutrinos" that he felt that it was "probably the best commercial synth music album ever...", an opinion which was shared by many.

Alas, the band were never able to better this fantastic release where they could so easily have moved on to bigger and better adventures, and indeed, they split up shortly afterwards. SkinMechanix were then left to carry the flag, quickly taking the centre spot with their intricate fusion of Berlin School and Dance/Trance.

There were rumours of a T-Bass reunion a couple of years ago though that failed to materialise. Hughes had said that he is working on new T-Bass material and a few short demos appeared on the band's web site a year ago but, since then, there's been nothing. This is a shame because unlike so many bands these days, T-Bass did actually deliver the goods. An even greater shame that so few actively supported and encouraged the band.
