about

"A Fall of Stars" is the long awaited sequel to Ion's highly successful 2007 debut "Future Forever" and was originally released on 11th October 2014 at the Awakenings All-Dayer event in Burton-on-Trent as a limited edition CD.

The music on "A Fall of Stars" is a strong mix of thematic and ambient pieces and shows the breadth of Ion's influences from the spacey ambience of "Blues from a Red Planet" and "SpaceWalker", the melodic intensity of "Waiting" and "Bong Ting" and the rhythmic pulsations in "The Faraway Piano" and "Juno Reactor".

However, that's not all. David J. Hughes, the human lurking behind the machines, has delved not only into his personal archive for this selection of tracks but also into the family's archive and has included a reworked version of his ancestor's music in the form of William Ions' "Precis and Response", which was first performed in 1880.
